The Patriot Hockey team went into their game last week coming off their sixth win in a row. Another win this week against the Wando Warriors would put them even closer to a perfect season. The team defeated Wando 13- 1 in a very physical game.

Halfway through the third period there were a few players involved in a scuffle. The Patriots’ assistant captain Jonathan Perry was thrown out and suspended for two games for fighting. Two Wando players were also ejected including their goalie. Defenseman, Matt Fernandez, was also ejected later in the game, but was not suspended.

Captain Jason Cliff lead the charge in the game with four goals. Zach Bunde and Jordan Murphy both scored a pair of goals as well. Other Patriots to score were: Grayson Durham, Julian Dipaolo, Jeff Gaskins, Joseph McKenzie, and Jonathan Perry. Goalie, John Ribes, faced only 15 shots and averaged a .933 save percentage. On the other end of the ice, both Wando goalies had to take on a combined 47 shots put up by the Patriot offense.

This week the team looks to take on an also undefeated Florence team. The Florence Predators sit at 5-0-0 and are tied for third place in the league. They are coming off a win against the Bishop England/Porter Gaud team. The Patriots need to come in with a physical and smart game to take on this team. The game is on Friday, February 5th at 6:00 at the Carolina Ice Palace. Come support Patriot Hockey.
