About This Site

This site was built as a way to serve students at Fort Dorchester by immersing them in real-world journalism. The site is produced entirely by student journalists and their mentor, Mr. Jim Roller, who teaches journalism and English as well as advises the yearbook.  

Mr. Roller’s classes are comprised of aspiring journalists who have enrolled in one of two sections of a course entitled Introduction to Journalism.  These students will use this platform to learn the role of the journalist and will hopefully be inspired enough by that experience to pursue the role further.

Such is the nature of this site.  It is not a well-staffed daily production, but rather a tool for teaching, learning, and inspiring.  We hope that you come to rely on us for news from the Fort and welcome your feedback along the way.
